History of BAFIITA:

Bangladesh Agro Feed Ingredients Importers And Traders Association (BAFIITA) was established in-2014, Mr. Sudhir Chowdhury was the founder President and Md. Helal Uddin was the founder Secretary General. BAFIITA is a member of The Federation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), endorsed by the Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of Bangladesh and registered with the Join Stock Company as a not- for-profit business Association, under Section-28 The Company Act, 1994. Any business entity engaged in Agro Feed Ingredients, Feed additives & Suppliments Manufacturing, Import and Trading based on environmentally friendly and carbon emission free Technologies eligible to apply for the membership of the Association.

Objectives of BAFIITA:

• To form an association of the companies involved an Agro feed Ingredients, Feed additives & Suppliments Importers, traders and Local manufacturing business and services.
• To represent the industry in the following regulatory bodies.
  1. Department of Livestock Services
  2. Department of Fisheries
  3. National Board of Revenue
  4. The Federation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI)
• To take action for preservation of rights and interest specially for the members of the organization and generally for the development of the business that are related to Agro feed Ingredients Importers traders and manufacturing business using new technologies which reduce carbon emission substantially.
• To demonstrate the positive implications of Poultry/Fisheries/Cattle Feed Ingredients Imports and Trading. Also demonstrate the positive implications of manufacturing process using environmentally friendly new technology like Hybrid Hoffman Kiln (HHK), Tunnel Kiln, Zigzag Kiln and to help to bring about awareness of severe negative environmental implication of manufacturing by conventional method.
• This Trade Organization shall function considering the state policy and overall public interest and it shall not arrange, support or take part in any such activities which disregard the state rule and create social disorder.
• To ensure all rights and facilities available for the other Associations from the Government and Non-Government organization and distributed the same among the members of the Association.
• To receive assistance from National/International authority/Government/ Non-government organizations for the development of the Association.
• To liaise with other institution within the country and abroad for protection of rights and expansion of activities of the Associations.
• To help all the members of the Association to get suitable and expert workers. To take all steps and efforts to remove any obstacle faced by any member of the Association.
• To monitor the activities of quality feed Ingredients Manufacturing/Import and Trading as per the policies approved by the Government of Bangladesh or the Association.
• To achieve the aims and objectives of the Association, establish branches of the Association in appropriate locations within Bangladesh as and when necessary.

Executive Committee of BAFIITA:

The management of the affairs of the Association shall be vested in the Executive Committee, consisting of Members not exceeding 15 in number. The Executive Committee shall consist of one president, One Senior Vice President, Two Vice Presidents, one Secretary General, One Join Secretary General, one Treasurer, one Organizing Secretary, one Social Welfare Secretary, One Press Secretary and five Executive Members.
